2024 Small Boat Long Distance race series

SMALL BOAT LONG DISTANCE RACE SERIES

May 11, Aug 24 and Nov 9, 2024

Tired of doing the same old windward/ leeward races?  Have you ever raced past X island?  Do you want to know what lies beyond the Three Sisters Island chain?  Here is your opportunity to add some excitement to your sailing adventures.  Come join us in a race to the other side of the lake. 

The Small Boat Long Distance race series will have three Saturday race dates on May 11, Aug 24 and Nov 9. There will be 4 different classes; Junior fleet members, Portsmouth Centerboard, Catamaran and 21 ft and under fixed keel boats.

The course and starting order will be set at the skipper’s meeting at 10 am with an 11 am start.   The start and finish line will be between F mark and the flagpole.   We will determine the course at the skipper’s meeting depending on the wind strength and direction of the prevailing wind.  Two or more of our rescue boats will be following the fleet around the course.  All participants should carry a VHF radio on board, approprite number of life jackets and water.  The race is at least 3 miles in length.

There is a $10 fee for the entire series.    After the race, come and join us at the clubhouse where we will have snacks while we will show photos of the participants.
